The world famous Radial Ramp
Southwest bound, ridge soaring the east escarpment of the Cumberland Plateau. Just above the left wing you can see the world famous Radial Ramp owned by the Tennessee Tree Toppers hang gliding club. Founded in the mid 70's, the TTT is one of the oldest and largest hang gliding clubs in the USA. Just starting to pull on some spoiler here so I can get down in the compression and fly by level with the ramp to say howdy. On a good day it is common to see two or three dozen hang gliders filling the skies. On this day, though, they were ground bound because it was blowing about 30 mph on the ramp. Blow out for them, but perfect for ridge running in a glider. On the right is the Sequatchie Valley looking SW.
